Breaking the Spell by Dan Dennett.
3/5 rating.
Book #79 in 2019. Read May 28, 2019.

This book lays out the importance of evaluating religions in ways as a natural institution that we would investigate other ideas (through psychology, linguistics, biology, etc.). “Breaking the Spell” for more objective ways of studying religion would likely allow for less charged and biased discussions about these institutions. The main issue that I had with this book is that I felt the main topics could’ve been reviewed in about 50 pages. Overall worth a read to push forward this idea, but there are a lot of better books out there, and even more concise ones related to the topic of religion.
