I would assume that most readers have already put this together, but I’m a nerd! That term applies for a plethora of reasons, but one of those is definitely for my love for all things Harry Potter! I have gone through each of the books at least 10 times (listening on tape so I can multi-task) and seen each movie at least as many times – with Hermione and Luna my favorite characters.

For my past birthday, my sister – who is even more of an HP nerd than I am – took me to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was an amazing birthday present to Orlando for “19 Years Later” put on by Mugglenet (I know, at this point you are likely asking where our pocket protectors and set of Dungeons and Dragons are, but bear with me). Now for those of you who do not know what “19 Years Later” refers to, this is the day that the Epilogue of the series occurs (September 1, 2017).

This celebration included some of the more minor characters from the film, free food and Butterbeer (a drink from the series which is 1 part butterscotch and 2 parts heaven), and some serious nerding out by a ton of stoked HP nerds! What was probably the coolest part was that this party had a very limited number of guests, meaning that my sister and I were able to look around at everything while not being bustled by thousands of other people – and also meant that we got to see Universal Studios after everything is shutdown which was an interesting experience that few get to see.

This experience was amazing, so I do want to say that my sister is pretty awesome…just don’t let her hear me saying so! 😉 Though it was raining a lot of the time, this nerd’s spirits were certainly not dashed. If you are a Harry Potter fan, I would consider the Wizarding World of Harry Potter a bucket-list item. If not, I would still certainly recommend going as it would still be a blast even if you don’t get all of the references. This may not be The Happiest Place On Earth, but there is still a multitude of magic within this park!
