Quebec City (that’s keh-bec for any of you non-French) is a beautiful city on the St. Lawrence River in the Quebec province of Canada. Walking into Old Quebec feels like walking into another time in the heart of Europe. The small, cobblestone streets, the cafes on the corners, and the Citadel at the top of the hill truly finish off the picture. My only real problem with Quebec is they speak French…and almost exclusively French! As an ignorant American, my grasp of French is about the same as that of a goldfish which made the whole experience pretty tough.

Originally, I had planned on staying in Quebec City for a few days in order to explore all of the terrific scenery. Unfortunately, with my lack of a grasp of the local language, I left after one night. Being alone without anyone to speak with made it too intimidating to stay longer. This was really too bad because the city was gorgeous! I’ve always been a sucker for Europe and any European-type city, so I would have loved to stroll the streets and enjoyed the plazas. As it was, I still saw the main attractions in the city.

Below are some of the beautiful sites that I saw. With my horrendous understanding of French, though, most of these are just pretty places that I have no clue the name or purpose of, so enjoy!
