“The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson.

This is the classic novella by Robert about the battle between good and evil.

Dr. Jekyll after living his life as a rather scrupulous and moral man makes a ground-breaking discovery one day in his chemistry lab. He finds that through a combination of chemicals, he is able to transform from Dr. Jekyll, into Mr. Hyde, his fully-evil counterpart.

While his initial forays into the dark side of his morality start off rather innocent and with little real evil, as he furthers these, they lead to murder and beyond. Scared into stopping his experiments, Jekyll begins to transform into Hyde when evil thoughts appear and most every time he awakens from sleep.

Will he be able to find a way to save himself from the evil sinner within him!?! I guess you’ll have to read this short book to find out.

This book is certainly a commentary on our fight between good and evil and brought up many allusions to the fall of man and related motifs. As humans get a taste for small greed, lust and other sins, they can often compound which is when it is even more important for our good, and moral side to win this battle.

As classics go, this is a rather symbolically-filled story, and pretty decent. Also a short read which always helps.
